ALL POWERFUL, ALL LOVING What is it like to take on the nature and character of Jesus Christ? Maybe you are like me and have been on this journey of transformation for some time. I have enjoyed the fruit of a thousand different historical and modern forms of discipleship. I have read hundreds of books and engaged in instruction through conferences, media, and the web. All of it has helped. But the interaction between me, the word, and the spirit have been the best. The best at producing lasting fruit. The best at setting me free from myself. In the following passage, Jesus gives a life lesson to the disciples. It is a life lesson to me too. Here are 5 questions to consider as you read this text and walk with me through this article. 1. What will you do with your calling, purpose, power, and authority? 2. How do you prepare to change the world? 3. How is the gap between you and God filled? 4. ...

Changing directions is a part of following Jesus. In Luke 9 and John 13 Jesus makes a course change for Himself and those who follow. I felt the “holding power” of my chair that serves as the world’s best altar, a place where God and I often meet over coffee. In contrast to a world out of order, a world on the verge, I felt none of that. When I take the message of the world to be my guide, I feel fear all the time. When I open my life and live in the moment, I mostly find a pla...

Contemplative Prayer I want to offer a time of contemplative prayer. A season of intentional hiddenness with God that allows God time to speak into our core being. A time of posturing ourselves before God. A time of inner healing and growth through communion with the Master Healer Himself. I can’t promise you results, but I can promise you that God is faithful. I can tell you that God has not abandoned His people. I can tell you that we often find ourselves lost, not because of His guidance but despite it. Here is the Agenda for our season of prayer. 8-8:15 Introduction for the day 8:15-8:45 Prayer Session 1 8:45 – 9:00 Break with Interaction 9:00 – 9:30 Prayer Session 2 9:30 – 9...
