How to Stay Encouraged in Prayer

For those of us who desire to commune with God and also find ourselves in the fast lane of life, what do we do to have fellowship with God.  Here is my quick list.

  1. Turn your guilt to thankfulness.  If you feel like your job is stealing your prayer time, thank God for your job and praise Him while you work.
  2. When you worry about being to busy, stop.  Once you stop worrying  start to intercede and ask God for opportunity to pray.  Turn worry to intercession.
  3. Don't surf facebook or social media without praying for each person when you stop and read their post.  Integrate joy or "mindless" activity with God.
  4. Don't sit in front of the TV.  Sit on the poach  in the back yard or even off by yourself   You will commune more with God by avoiding TV, computers and media.  (thanks for following #3 and praying for me as you read this)
  5. Don't try to schedule a hour or a half hour for prayer.  Give yourself to prayer in the 3-10 min. windows of life and you will pray by the hours in due season.  Love the little you have and it will increase.
